Job Summary

Implement preventive maintenance and repair programs for hospital biomedical equipment, including electronic and electro-mechanical systems connected to patients or used for diagnosis. Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, troubleshoot and correct malfunctions, run safety and performance tests, and maintain detailed equipment records. Evaluate equipment safety/function, stay current on clinical engineering technology, and support accreditation and department policies while serving on-call for emergencies.

Key Responsibilities

•Implement maintenance programs to keep hospital biomedical equipment well maintained, including electronic and electro-mechanical devices used for diagnosis and connected to patients.
•Perform preventive maintenance and repairs (scheduled and unscheduled) and ensure operational safety of medical equipment.
•Analyze, install, and evaluate malfunctions on medical systems and instruments using test instruments and technical literature.
•Set up testing procedures, calibrate equipment, conduct safety testing (e.g., electrical leakage current and defibrillator analyzers), and measure performance.
•Maintain logs, reports, and equipment records; participate in department education and follow accreditation and safety policies.

Key Requirements

•Graduate engineer from an accredited university in Biomedical or Electronics & Communication or Electrical & Electronics Engineering (special course in Communication or instrumentation or Industrial engineering is preferred).
•Two (2) years’ experience in biomedical engineering in an acute care hospital facility.
•Experience maintaining a 150-bed minimum hospital in Saudi Arabia or internationally for two years.
•Fluency in verbal and written English.
•Working knowledge of OSHA and other international safety standards and regulations; competent management skills.
