Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead technical governance and compliance across the contract to ensure safety, legally compliant operations, and fit-for-purpose engineering and maintenance activities.
  • •Oversee compliance with legislation, MOD standards, and industry best practice, ensuring governance, audit, and assurance processes are in place.
  • •Lead technical reviews of designs, major refurbishments, and new infrastructure before handover, ensuring correct asset documentation and lifecycle maintenance.
  • •Manage centrally delivered technical programmes, safety alerts, engineering instructions, and technical bulletins, ensuring risks are identified, communicated, and effectively managed.
  • •Lead and develop a team of Authorised Persons, including mentoring, training programmes, writing technical policies/procedures/maintenance specifications, and managing external audits and compliance reporting.

Key Requirements

  • •Experienced technical compliance or engineering leader with qualifications in electrical or mechanical engineering (Level 3 minimum).
  • •Strong background managing compliance, assurance, or engineering governance in a complex operational environment.
  • •Excellent understanding of statutory compliance for building engineering systems, infrastructure, and health and safety legislation, including interpreting technical standards into operational controls.
  • •Experience leading audit programmes, governance frameworks, risk registers, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • •Confident leadership of technical teams and ability to communicate compliance information clearly to senior stakeholders.
