Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide armed protective security at TVA facilities, including access control operations and compliance with TVA Personnel Security policies, procedures, and requirements.
  • •Conduct visitor processing and screening using X-ray machines, walk-through metal detectors (WTMD), and hand-held metal detectors (HHMD).
  • •Perform vehicular and foot security patrols, traffic control, alarm monitoring and response, and ensure receipt, accountability, and safeguarding of keys.
  • •Monitor compliance and oversee conduct, report safety issues/hazardous conditions/incidents, and complete required reports and records (including testimony when required).
  • •Respond to injury or illness and manage emergency situations, including first aid/CPR/resuscitation until emergency personnel arrive, while maintaining physical readiness for long shifts and emergency actions.

Key Requirements

  • •Meet at least one qualification: 3+ years of security experience in the past 5 years, 3+ years of military/National Guard service, an associate degree or higher in a security/law enforcement field, or completion of a police officer basic training academy (or equivalent approved experience/education).
  • •Fluently speak, read, comprehend, and write in English.
  • •Pass background screening, psychological evaluation, drug testing, and required initial training prior to assignment.
  • •Meet all Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) suitability criteria prior to assignment and maintain documentation of compliance with TVA Personnel Security requirements and USCIS regulations.
  • •Physical capability to perform job functions including sustained alertness and use of security equipment and firearms as required.
