Job Summary

Leads development and completion of utility-scale renewable energy projects (1 MW+) from land development through notice-to-proceed for construction. Oversees scope, scheduling, estimating, engineering, procurement coordination, permitting, and transition to construction, including MISO interconnection applications. Serves as a point of contact for community engagement, communicates project status to stakeholders, evaluates and mitigates project risks, and manages compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements while coaching teammates.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead wind and/or solar projects through development activities in early, mid, and/or late stages.
•Develop project scope and coordinate specialists to produce project schedules, cost estimates, and construction engineering specifications for renewable energy projects.
•Oversee project expenditures and coordinate procurement of labor, equipment, and materials, including bid meetings, supplier selections/evaluations, and contracting strategy.
•Represent DTE to local communities to advance projects through local siting and permitting, and lead community engagement efforts as needed.
•Manage project risk and ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements, while communicating project status to stakeholders and coaching more junior colleagues.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of project management experience (scheduling, estimating, project risk management, and construction management), including 3+ years in renewable energy/community development/community engagement projects; OR Associate degree with 9+ years; OR high school/GED with 11+ years (including 3+ years in renewable energy/community development/community engagement).
•Experience leading renewable energy projects through development activities across early, mid, and/or late stages.
•Experience developing project scope and coordinating specialists who support schedule, cost estimates, and construction engineering specifications for renewable energy projects.
•Experience overseeing project expenditures and cost-effective procurement of labor, equipment, and materials, including bid meetings, supplier selection/evaluation, and contracting strategy.
•Proficiency with project management software (and preferred: PMP certification; renewable energy sector experience including energy storage).
