Key Responsibilities

  • •Assist the aggregate crusher section with stockpiling material management, selecting materials, and other tasks assigned by the Crusher Supervisor.
  • •Conduct prestart and post inspection of an excavator.
  • •Maintain good machine housekeeping and follow good operation practices.
  • •Report mechanical defects and all substandard/unsafe conditions immediately to the Supervisor.
  • •Maintain water drainage as required and follow applicable safety procedures while executing work instructions safely and orderly.

Key Requirements

  • •At least 5 years’ experience in mining and heavy earthwork machinery operation.
  • •Knowledge of operating an excavator and understanding its mechanical capabilities.
  • •Must possess knowledge of how to do pre-start on the machine and identify defects.
  • •Must be conversant with controls/parts and their functions, including machine shut down and emergency procedures.
  • •Full Grade 12 School Certificate, with a valid driver’s license (at least 2 years driving experience) certified by ZAQA.
