Key Responsibilities

  • •Support closure planning and on-site implementation in alignment with Teck’s Closure Standard and provide related reporting.
  • •Identify and evaluate closure, reclamation, and biodiversity risks/issues, implement solutions, and ensure safety and hazard adherence.
  • •Prepare professional reports, applications, and submissions for internal and government audiences.
  • •Develop and maintain integrated Closure Execution Readiness Plan alignment across corporate strategy, regulatory requirements, and site operational plans; coordinate readiness milestones with cross-functional teams.
  • •Manage reclamation and closure scopes, budgets, success criteria, and contractors/consultants; track contracts, PO/budget commitments, schedules, and progress.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g., civil, geological, mining, environmental, or related).
  • •Minimum 5 years of experience with mine closure, mine waste management, civil earthworks, reclamation, or related fields; closure landforms/waste dump cover/surface water management experience preferred.
  • •Valid Driver's License.
  • •Demonstrated success working with operations, environmental, and engineering teams.
  • •Proficiency with MS Office suite; AutoCAD Civil3D and ArcGIS are preferred; strong written/oral communication and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
