Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform field control system services for utility, institutional, industrial, boiler, chilled water, and balance-of-plant systems under direction of experienced FCS personnel.
  • •Assist with instrumentation installation verification, calibration, loop checks, input/output checkout, functional testing, startup, troubleshooting, and control-loop tuning.
  • •Assist with checkout and testing of PLC, DCS, HMI, burner management, combustion control, and standalone control systems.
  • •Read and apply P&IDs, wiring diagrams, loop diagrams, control schematics, instrument data sheets, installation details, and test procedures.
  • •Collect field data and prepare work summaries, calibration records, test documentation, redlines, software files, and other deliverables while following safety requirements and coordinating with project leads.

Key Requirements

  • •1 to 3 years of college/technical/trade study, military technical training, apprenticeship, internship, co-op, or related work in instrumentation/controls.
  • •Foundational knowledge of industrial instrumentation and the ability to develop proficiency in PLC, DCS, HMI, and standalone controller-based systems.
  • •Basic knowledge of field devices including pressure, temperature, level, and flow transmitters; switches; control valves; positioners; and actuators.
  • •Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings, including P&IDs, wiring diagrams, loop diagrams, installation details, and schematics.
  • •Complete required safety and compliance training (including OSHA 30-hour) and meet site-access requirements; valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
