Job Summary

Join the Transmission & Distribution design team and deliver practical electrical design solutions across the project lifecycle. You’ll carry out MV/LV design to DNO standards, develop feeder supply network solutions, and produce substation layout, primary plant/equipment, and protection & control documentation. Work on earthing grid design and calculations, SCADA and auxiliary/COP metering interface designs, and power supply changeover solutions, collaborating with clients and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform MV and LV design work to DNO standards, including feeder network solutions (open/closed ring and radial).
•Produce intake and distribution substation layout designs, plus primary plant and equipment design for MV/LV systems.
•Create secondary protection and control solution documentation, including circuit and wiring diagrams.
•Carry out cable sizing calculations and create routing, section, and termination drawings for MV/LV.
•Develop earthing grid design and calculations, SCADA system interface designs, and standby/back-up power changeover solutions.

Key Requirements

•Degree or relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering.
•Knowledge of British and DNO specific design standards.
•A proven track record as a Trainee or Assistant Electrical Engineer, or completion of a Graduate Training programme in the Energy/Power sector.
•Understanding of functional characteristics of power systems.
•Experience writing clear and concise documentation.
