Key Responsibilities

  • •Contact policyholders regarding property claims within level of authority, conducting investigations, interviews, and inspections to prepare estimates.
  • •Evaluate information to determine coverage and total value of claim; set and maintain adequate reserves; determine payments and issue checks or declines as required.
  • •Document claim files and submit final reports for closure.
  • •Identify subrogation situations and initiate appropriate action.
  • •Service assigned territory and bring assigned claims to conclusion, including handling litigated claims when required.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma or equivalent required (Property Adjuster Trainee).
  • •For Property Adjuster I: high school diploma/GED with two years of claims handling experience (or equivalent) OR successful completion of Erie sponsored formal education OR a bachelor’s degree required.
  • •For Property Adjuster II: high school diploma/GED with five years of claims handling experience (or equivalent) OR a bachelor’s degree plus two years of claims handling experience (or equivalent).
  • •Valid driver’s license and good driving record required.
  • •Willingness to pursue and complete Technical Learning Center Training; willingness to obtain and maintain required licenses.
