Job Summary

Design and automate custom manufacturing machinery within DreamOn Labs’ Innovation Team. You’ll analyze digital fabrication and industrial automation to guide machine development, build and validate mechanical, electronic, and automation subsystems, and lead R&D from proof-of-concept through validated molding and foaming technologies. Establish documentation and reproducible operating recipes, maintain structured hardware/software repositories, and support workshops and debugging to enable knowledge transfer across a global network.

Key Responsibilities

•Analyze state-of-the-art solutions in digital fabrication and industrial automation to inform machine development.
•Develop, assemble, and validate mechanical, electronic, and automation subsystems against defined performance criteria.
•Lead pioneering R&D explorations into novel molding and foaming technologies, moving from proof-of-concept to validated solutions.
•Establish systematic documentation, parameter guidelines, and operational recipes to ensure global reproducibility.
•Define and maintain highly-structured hardware and software repositories and support debugging and machine-building workshops for knowledge transfer.

Key Requirements

•Fab Academy Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electronics, or Mechatronics Engineering (a Master's degree is preferred).
•1+ years of hands-on experience in applied research, Fab Labs, or digital fabrication facilities.
•Experience in hardware projects with understanding of software architecture, programming abstraction, and object-oriented programming.
•Ability to analyze complex automation problems and build working prototypes.
•Strong communication skills to foster knowledge transfer and organize workshops; Fab Academy instructor experience is a significant asset.
