Key Responsibilities

  • •Design heat rejection and HVAC systems for data centers, accounting for cooling requirements, future flexibility, phased construction/operation, airflow management, humidity control, redundancy, energy efficiency, and industry standards.
  • •Select and specify data center cooling systems and components (e.g., fan wall units, CRAHs, chilled water, DX, CRAC, in-row cooling, containment) based on cooling requirements and equipment criticality.
  • •Conduct internal and external CFD analyses to optimize airflow distribution, identify hotspots, model building/campus interactions, and recommend design modifications based on results.
  • •Engineer redundancy and fault-tolerant HVAC configurations to maintain continuous data center operation during equipment failure or maintenance.
  • •Perform heat load calculations and capacity planning for current needs and future expansions, including HVAC loads for administrative and common facility areas; implement energy-efficient and air-quality/filtration strategies.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of relevant experience (or demonstrated equivalency).
  • •Experience in data center mechanical and electrical equipment installation and operation.
  • •P. E. registration is required.
  • •Knowledge of data center standards and topology such as Uptime Institute TER Standard Topology, TIA 942, and ANSI/BICSI 002.
  • •Preferred: a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering/HVAC/related field, with a master's or advanced coursework and HVAC-related certifications (e.g., CEM, BEMP, LEED).
