Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide welding engineering deliverables and metallurgical consultative support to fabrication and marine operating groups.
  • •Develop Project Welding Execution Plans, including weld procedures required, qualification schedules, and electrode/material quantities.
  • •Seek review and approval of all Project Weld Procedures with the customer and certifying authority.
  • •Coordinate welding qualification testing with test houses and select electrodes based on physical, chemical, and corrosion properties as well as weldability and economics.
  • •Mentor trainee welding engineers and support welding school facility management to improve welding methodology and workmanship practices.

Key Requirements

  • •MS in Welding
  • •BS degree (4-year degree) or IWE or EWE in Welding Engineering/Metallurgical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering
  • •5+ years directly related to Welding Engineering, Metallurgy/Materials in Fabrication/Construction industry
  • •Welding Inspection qualification preferred
  • •TQM education preferred
