Key Responsibilities

  • •Negotiate hourly wholesale transactions to optimize corporate renewable and thermal generation assets.
  • •Capture market and real-time arbitrage opportunities using transmission and manage day-ahead and real-time transactions.
  • •Create NERC e-tags, purchase transmission via OASIS, and record transactions accurately in Avangrid’s energy management system.
  • •Schedule energy flow by issuing digital E-tags and provide generation/transmission schedules to ISO/control areas and transmission providers.
  • •Manage unit bids/offers and day-ahead asset and proprietary risk; facilitate training for other real time traders.

Key Requirements

  • •BA/BS in mathematics, business, finance, economics, or engineering (or equivalent education and experience).
  • •Solid understanding of generation and transmission operations.
  • •Ability to receive, process, and transact on market information; quick learning in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • •Experience preferred with electricity markets including WECC, CAISO, ERCOT, MISO, PJM, NYISO (ability to identify sales/purchase opportunities).
  • •Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
