Key Responsibilities

  • •Shape the architecture strategy and long-term roadmap for Agoda’s Tax technology ecosystem within FinTech.
  • •Own mission-critical platform architecture focused on tax capabilities, ensuring scalability, security, resilience, observability, and adaptability.
  • •Design end-to-end solutions across internal systems, tax engines, APIs, data flows, and selected third-party platforms.
  • •Partner hands-on with engineering teams on technical decisions, system design, implementation trade-offs, and proof-of-concepts.
  • •Lead architecture reviews, translate complex tax and regulatory requirements into technical models, and guide modernization to improve quality, velocity, and cost efficiency.

Key Requirements

  • •10+ years of software engineering, architecture, or technology leadership experience designing and evolving complex production systems.
  • •3+ years delivering tax-related technology projects across direct/indirect tax domains or closely related finance technology domains.
  • •Strong understanding of tax technology domains including VAT, GST, corporate tax, withholding tax, compliance workflows, tax calculation, reporting, reconciliation, and auditability.
  • •Proven ability to shape technical strategy and architecture roadmaps across multiple teams, systems, or business domains.
  • •Deep hands-on system design experience across APIs, data flows, integration patterns, reliability, observability, scalability, and operational trade-offs.
