Key Responsibilities

  • •Investigate database internals and diagnose SQL latency and availability issues across the storage and query execution layers.
  • •Design and implement storage-layer traffic prioritization for connection pooling.
  • •Validate and safely roll out CDC architecture changes while guaranteeing transactional correctness across shards.
  • •Build frameworks and tooling for the NewSQL database, including monitoring, observability, permissions, and service discovery integration.
  • •Partner with open-source database vendors and internal teams to drive root-cause analysis and upstream contributions.

Salary: USD 196,000 - 230,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •5+ years building and operating large-scale distributed systems in areas such as storage, data ingestion, backup/restore, or streaming.
  • •Hands-on experience with database or storage internals, including query execution, storage engines, replication, or consensus.
  • •Ability to own and deeply dive into a complex codebase, ideally open-source.
  • •Experience maintaining, analyzing, and debugging high-severity production incidents.
  • •Write clean, testable, maintainable code with strong collaboration and ownership.
