Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead the analysis and interpretation of molecular and clinical data for early cancer detection as a thought leader on the Computational Science team.
  • •Suggest research hypotheses and areas for computational model and assay improvement, then plan, scope, and execute research with a multidisciplinary team.
  • •Develop bioinformatics pipelines for high throughput NGS data processing and analysis.
  • •Partner with wet lab scientists to rapidly characterize and iterate experimental methods using real-time assessments of assay performance, QC, and clinical/diagnostic utility.
  • •Stay current on molecular oncology techniques and collaborate to bring forward next-generation assays for early cancer detection.

Key Requirements

  • •PhD in computational biology, cancer biology, statistics, bioinformatics, or a related quantitative field.
  • •Experience in NGS assay and pipeline development, including implementing complex workflows for high-throughput NGS processing.
  • •Strong quantitative reasoning and data analysis skills applied to relevant scientific problems.
  • •Strong computational and programming skills, including Python statistical packages such as NumPy, Matplotlib, and Pandas (or equivalents like R).
  • •Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with computational and experimental scientists.
