Key Responsibilities

  • •Manage an assigned caseload of complex property damage claims by evaluating coverage, liability exposure, and negotiating equitable settlements within authority limits.
  • •Investigate claim damages by researching sources including the insured, third parties, and external resources, and identify discrepancies and subrogation potential.
  • •Determine coverage by analyzing complex policy terms/contingencies and create Special Investigation Unit (SIU) referrals when appropriate.
  • •Prepare and manage claims estimates using estimating platforms and advance knowledge of virtual inspection tools; maintain accurate, current claim file documentation throughout the claims process.
  • •Support workload surges and catastrophe (CAT) response operations, including mandatory on-call dates and potential evening/weekend/holiday work, with possible CAT travel and in-person inspections.

Key Requirements

  • •High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma.
  • •2 years of relevant property claims adjusting experience for moderate complexity losses, including writing estimates and handling dwelling/structural damages.
  • •Advanced knowledge of estimating losses using Xactimate or similar estimating platforms/tools.
  • •Proficient knowledge of residential construction and property claims contracts, including interpretation of case law and state laws/regulations.
  • •Ability to travel 50-75% of the year and/or handle catastrophe (CAT) duty when needed, plus acquisition/maintenance of an insurance adjuster license within 90 days and 3 attempts.
