Job Summary

Project manage HV/EHV transmission and distribution projects in the UK, covering pre-construction and construction activities from design through energisation. Lead delivery across feasibility, detailed design, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning for new or existing substations and associated grid connections (33kV–400kV). Interface with customers, coordinate internal and external teams, and undertake CDM Designer/Principal Designer roles to ensure time, cost, safety, and quality.

Key Responsibilities

•Develop HV/EHV initial functional requirements into compliant, cost-effective engineering solutions.
•Project manage HV/EHV project development and delivery (cable, overhead, plant and civil) to time, cost, safety and quality.
•Interface with customers and internal/external resources to develop and deliver HV/EHV projects.
•Act as CDM Designer and/or Principal Designer for developed HV/EHV projects.
•Coordinate external service providers and administer commercial activities.

Key Requirements

•Minimum HNC in Electrical Engineering.
•Experience managing large and complex HV and EHV substation projects across the full lifecycle from feasibility to energisation.
•Strong understanding of electrical transmission and distribution systems and plant items including AIS/GIS switchgear, Protection & Control, power transformers, underground cables, and overhead lines.
•Knowledge of optioneering for substation configurations, including voltage levels and installed/firm capacities, aligned to functional requirements.
•Excellent understanding of H&S and CDM requirements, with ability to act as Designer/Principal Designer under CDM regulations.
