Key Responsibilities

  • •Modernize our Backend: Drive the evolution of our backend infrastructure, moving from a Ruby on Rails monolith to a scalable, microservices-based system.
  • •Support Feature Teams: Act as a key technical resource for feature teams, tackling performance bottlenecks, service architecture improvements, and integrating new technologies.
  • •Technical Leadership: Guide the team in best practices for backend development, cloud infrastructure, and performance optimization.
  • •Collaborate Across Teams: Work with product, frontend, and operations to ensure robust, scalable backend solutions.
  • •Telemetry & Reliability: Implement and monitor API telemetry to ensure performance and reliability of services.

Key Requirements

  • •Ruby on Rails expertise for backend development
  • •Experience with Microservices Architecture and distributed systems
  • •5+ years of Backend Development Experience
  • •3+ years of Cloud Experience (AWS, GCP, or Azure; AWS preferred)
  • •Strong PostgreSQL experience with relational databases
