Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead development of a pipeline of enterprise growth opportunities grounded in customer/system needs, market timing, strategic fit, partner interest, and NRG capabilities.
  • •Direct creation and testing of growth theses using customer insight, market intelligence, competitive activity, technology trends, and regulatory developments.
  • •Own development of business cases, financial/operating models, commercialization strategies, partnership structures, and investment recommendations.
  • •Lead cross-functional teams across commercial, finance, regulatory, legal, operations, technology, development, strategy, and business-unit organizations.
  • •Lead a small team and mobilize enterprise resources to manage stage gates, monitor results, and recommend accelerate/reshape/partner/invest/stop decisions.

Key Requirements

  • •15+ years originating and advancing new businesses, commercial models, strategic partnerships, or investment opportunities, taking ideas from “zero to one.”
  • •Demonstrated success landing high-value partnerships, negotiating complex commercial arrangements, and advancing initiatives through initial deployment.
  • •Significant leadership experience in energy, utilities, competitive power markets, customer energy solutions, DERs/virtual power plants, infrastructure/data centers, or related sectors.
  • •Experience developing and defending complex business cases, financial models, commercial structures, and capital recommendations with senior executives and investors.
  • •Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Energy Systems, Public Policy, or a related discipline (MBA/advanced degree preferred).
