Job Summary

Oversee the day-to-day operation of the Cutting Department to meet cost, profit, and production goals across multiple departments and shifts. Lead and motivate teams, coach and counsel employees, evaluate performance, and drive continuous improvement and safety initiatives. Manage department inventory, reports, and records, and ensure compliance with UFP policies and applicable law. May support hazardous material handling and operate a forklift when assigned.

Key Responsibilities

•Manage the production operation of multiple departments across multiple shifts.
•Manage, motivate, and coach a group of employees to maximize productivity.
•Identify, research, and resolve production problems and opportunities.
•Evaluate individual performance and department programs; provide daily feedback and conduct employee reviews.
•Lead continuous improvement and safety initiatives, including compliance with UFP policies and established safety standards.

Key Requirements

•Post high school education is required.
•3 to 5 years of manufacturing experience, plus 1 to 3 years of experience managing people.
•Demonstrated ability to set up and manage agendas with clear understanding of time frames and visual aids.
•Strong communication skills, including speaking clearly and engaging listeners.
•Commitment to safety, including understanding and adhering to safety procedures (JDA/JSA) and proper training such as LOTO and machine audits.
