Job Summary

Lead environmental assessment and remediation projects with WSP’s Remediation Program Management (RPM) team in Calgary or Edmonton. You’ll manage contaminated-site risk and closure in downstream oil and gas, oversee field monitoring/investigation/remediation work, and prepare technical reports. The role includes reviewing health and safety and emergency response plans, developing proposals and cost estimates, managing project accounting and reporting, and training junior staff in Phase I/II ESAs and site health and safety.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead and manage project teams, including reviewing health and safety and emergency response plans.
•Design and oversee field work for monitoring, investigation, and remediation of contaminated sites, and ensure technical reporting.
•Prepare proposals and cost estimates, and manage project accounting, tracking, and reporting under WSP’s Master Services Agreements.
•Train junior staff in environmental practices including Phase I/II ESAs, drilling, surveying, and groundwater sampling, plus remediation oversight.
•Manage client relationships and collaborate across the national RPM team and WSP.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: CAD 62,900 - 92,300

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in a related field (sciences and/or Engineering).
•Minimum 8 years of experience in contaminated site assessments.
•Strong understanding of health and safety procedures in the workplace and a safety-conscious attitude.
•Experience with soil and groundwater sampling and remediation.
•Knowledge of Alberta and Saskatchewan environmental regulations (professional designation preferred).
