Key Responsibilities

  • •Configure, deploy, and support enterprise-grade switches, routers, firewalls, VPN gateways, and adhere to logging baselines and load balancers across DHS operational environments.
  • •Provide Tier 2/Tier 3 escalation support for network outages, circuit degradations, and performance issues; conduct root cause analyses (RCA) and coordinate vendor support.
  • •Support planning, installation, and cutover for network hardware upgrades, SD-WAN transitions, and cloud interconnects (AWS/Azure/GCP), including remote field sites and infrastructure modernization.
  • •Design, implement, and maintain an SD-WAN solution across multiple network transports, including routing traffic by application type and performance requirements.
  • •Maintain network diagrams, topology maps, inventory databases, SOPs, and change control tickets; support 24/7/365 on-call escalation and participate in post-incident reporting.

Salary: USD 120,000 - 140,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •10+ years of verifiable network engineering experience supporting a large, complex Federal agency (or 14+ years without a bachelor’s degree).
  • •Strong knowledge of networking protocols including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, VPNs, and VLANs.
  • •Expertise with Cisco technology and firewall technologies, including the ability to perform firewall changes.
  • •Hands-on experience with SDN technologies such as Cisco ACI or VMware NSX, with strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • •Active CBP BI or within the past 3 years, and active industry certifications such as CCNA or CCNP (routing and switching).
