Job Summary

Operate and maintain an asphalt production plant while coordinating daily activities to meet mix, capacity, and tonnage needs. Manage dispatching and truck loading, keep accurate production logs, and troubleshoot production problems with the plant team and quality control staff. Perform equipment inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs (including welding) across conveyors and related systems. Follow safety and compliance procedures, including PPE use and Lockout/Tagout and confined space practices.

Key Responsibilities

•Coordinate truck dispatching in the yard and process required tickets/paperwork.
•Create daily plant schedules based on mix needs, capacity, and tonnage, and ensure asphalt meets specifications through adjustments to material blends.
•Safely operate and maintain asphalt plant equipment by regulating material flow, temperature, and production levels.
•Inspect, perform preventative maintenance, and carry out repairs on equipment (including conveyors and electrical components).
•Lead daily safety routines and comply with procedures, including PPE use and TAR/Stretch and Flex.

Key Requirements

•1 year minimum experience in the road or construction field working outdoors.
•Excellent oral and written communication skills with stakeholders under high-stress situations.
•High attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in high-stress situations.
•Basic mechanics, welding, and tool use, including basic mathematical calculations.
•Ability to operate and monitor production systems, including reading meters and gauges, and writing reports/logbooks.
