Key Responsibilities

  • •Partner with responsible engineers to co-define commodity strategy, multi-year roadmaps, and approved vendor lists for board mechanicals and connector families, anticipating interconnect/density needs 12–24 months ahead.
  • •Own global end-to-end sourcing for connectors and board mechanicals, including supplier selection/qualification, dual/multi-sourcing, capacity reservation, and performance governance to compress lead times.
  • •Define and negotiate SOWs and commercial agreements that drive value engineering, aggressive pricing, tooling/capacity commitments, and flexibility while meeting SI, power, and reliability standards.
  • •Act as the supplier interface for RFIs/RFPs/RFQs, visit supplier factories, and assess process capability, quality systems, financial health, and capacity before awarding NPI/production contracts.
  • •Standardize and automate NPI-to-mass-production processes, implement inventory models for long-lead/custom mechanicals, and establish weekly-reviewed KPIs for cost, quality, speed, yield, and resilience.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years in business, manufacturing, supply chain, or engineering (or 9+ years in lieu of a degree).
  • •4+ years of experience in global supply chain, commodity management, or electronics sourcing focused on connectors, interconnects, sockets, or board-level mechanical hardware.
  • •Deep technical understanding of high-speed I/O connectors, power connectors, CPU/accelerator sockets, DIMM sockets, cages/EMI hardware, and board-level mechanicals.
  • •Hands-on familiarity with connector drawings, plating specifications, SI/mechanical stack-up trade-offs, IPC standards, and catalog vs. custom interconnects.
  • •Ability to negotiate complex SOWs, challenge specifications and costs, and deliver results in ambiguous, high-velocity environments with extreme timelines.
