Job Summary

Support customer data centers by preparing, staging, and executing server and rack hardware startups/shutdowns, performing diagnostics and troubleshooting to restore service with minimal disruption, and validating grounding, labeling, and cabling against safety protocols and deployment standards. Decommission hardware for upgrades and OS rebuilds, escalate and report incidents, and complete tickets aligned to KPIs and SLAs. Build documentation and contribute to a shared knowledge library.

Key Responsibilities

•Prepare, stage, and perform data center hardware startups and shutdowns (e.g., racks, hard drives, switches) using checklists and standard protocols.
•Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting, identify root-cause(s), and replace faulty components to minimize customer and business disruption.
•Complete post-execution quality checks to ensure grounding, staging, labeling, and cabling meet safety protocols and deployment standards.
•Decommission hardware for simple changes and refreshes (e.g., memory upgrades, OS rebuilds) using standard procedures.
•Communicate, report, and escalate incidents to AMD management; participate in safety briefings and complete required safety training.

Key Requirements

•Some years of experience as a data center technician.
•Exceptional server hardware knowledge and deep understanding of component/system failures.
•Ability to perform diagnostics and troubleshooting to identify root-cause(s) and replace faulty components.
•Solid experience using IPMI for diagnostics and administering diagnostics/tests/FW updates.
•Experience with Windows Server OS and WinPE OS administration (Linux PXE is a plus).

Education:Bachelor's in computer science, computer engineering, information technology (or equivalent experience preferred)
