Key Responsibilities

  • •Design, architect, code, and support video features across the video pipeline stack (live ingestion, transcoding, integration, storage, playback/consumption) at scale.
  • •Influence and iterate on the video team’s technology roadmap with the Engineering Manager and Product Manager as the capabilities scale.
  • •Collaborate with mobile, web, ML/computer vision, and platform teams on projects across the video processing system to improve user experiences.
  • •Review and provide feedback on designs and code PRs, pair on architectures, and guide implementations as needed.
  • •Build internal SDKs/frameworks/tooling and define real-time monitoring and measurement systems; participate in an occasional on-call rotation and help lead/mentor engineers.

Key Requirements

  • •Strong background in video and audio streaming, preferably with a focus on live-streaming user-generated content.
  • •Extensive experience architecting and building scalable, high-performance video pipelines in cloud environments (AWS used).
  • •Strong understanding of audio/video packaging principles, codecs, and related tools (e.g., MPEG Video, HLS, DASH, H.264/H.265, RTMP/SRT, FFmpeg, DRM).
  • •Hands-on experience building live and VOD streaming workflows across mobile broadcast, ingest, transcoding, storage, playback, and related systems at scale.
  • •Proficiency reading/coding in video-space languages (e.g., C#/GoLang/C++/Rust/Python) and experience with languages/frameworks such as Node/TypeScript/React and/or mobile (Kotlin/Swift).
