Job Summary

Lead a mainframe engineering team supporting mission-critical banking systems using IBM z/OS and Hogan components. Drive mainframe modernization by reducing batch windows and moving toward continuous/real-time processing while implementing DevOps practices such as CI/CD, Git-based source control, automated testing, and security scanning. Coach engineers on production-ready, testable code, oversee incident response, ensure performance/resiliency and strict release/change control, and partner across product and security roadmaps.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead by example and coach teams to follow standards and best practices, producing production-ready, testable code that handles edge cases and errors
•Act as a touchpoint for technical inquiries across product, scrum, and customer support, and influence decisions to deliver business value efficiently
•Advance cross-team technical roadmaps and lead improvements to the delivery process with Agile/product delivery principles
•Lead incident response and troubleshoot recurring issues by researching and recommending tools and establishing processes
•Actively contribute to talent management, including hiring and performance management, and lead geographically distributed teams

Key Requirements

•Deep experience in IBM z/OS mainframe environments, including batch and online transaction processing
•Hands-on COBOL development within Hogan core banking systems
•Experience with Hogan components such as Demand Deposit Accounting (DDA), CIS, CAMS, and additional modules (e.g., IPS, MISER, RPS, ODS, PAS) or equivalents
•Experience supporting high-volume, mission-critical financial systems with strict availability and resiliency requirements
•Hands-on mainframe DevOps tooling experience, including IBM Developer for z/OS (IDz) or Visual Studio Code with Z extensions, GitLab/source control, and CI/CD pipelines for mainframe applications
