Key Responsibilities

  • •Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections in compliance with DOT and CarMax standards using a company hauler or a non-Class-A Commercial Motor Vehicle.
  • •Maintain accurate and compliant DOT logs and documentation.
  • •Load, secure, transport, and unload CarMax vehicles safely and efficiently, including hands-on freight handling and working outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • •Move vehicles between CarMax locations and approved vendors (and between customer locations) using a company-provided truck while keeping equipment clean and operationally ready.
  • •Deliver vehicles accurately and on time and follow CarMax Standard Work to execute home deliveries and appraisal pickups with accurate paperwork and professional customer interactions.

Key Requirements

  • •Be 21 years of age or older with a valid state-issued driver’s license.
  • •Maintain a clean driving record with no serious violations in the past three years and meet CarMax’s Driver Safety Evaluation criteria.
  • •Have the physical ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive loading/unloading tasks to meet FMCSA and CarMax load securement standards.
  • •Be able to climb, bend, and kneel to access and secure vehicles on multi-level transport decks.
  • •Have 1+ year of customer service experience and 1+ year of delivery driving experience (or CarMax experience), and obtain a DOT Medical Card before starting.
