Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform decontamination, cleaning, preservation, and detailing for hazardous and radiologically access-controlled (reactor) compartments, equipment, and materials.
  • •Support Virginia Class submarine maintenance and related maintenance activities.
  • •Contribute to nuclear safety, regulatory compliance, and operational readiness requirements at PHNSY.
  • •Apply safe handling and maintenance practices for hazardous and radioactive systems, equipment, and components.
  • •Maintain readiness and support ongoing submarine maintenance activities before and after the overseas training period.

Key Requirements

  • •Relevant experience in industrial cleaning, surface preparation, or maintenance environments.
  • •Experience decontaminating hazardous and radioactive systems, equipment, and components.
  • •Certificate III in Cleaning Operations trade qualification (highly desirable).
  • •Willingness to relocate to Perth for ongoing employment.
  • •Ability to complete required medical and dental assessments, and an NV1 Defence Security Clearance is essential (Australian citizens eligible to obtain/maintain clearance).
