Key Responsibilities

  • •Plan and deliver engaging mathematics lessons aligned with the NCfE, developing fluency, reasoning, and problem-solving.
  • •Set high expectations for achievement, behaviour, and participation in a safe, inclusive learning environment.
  • •Use assessment to adapt teaching, provide meaningful feedback, track progress, and implement timely intervention.
  • •Contribute to curriculum planning, resourcing, moderation, and preparation for future examination pathways as secondary grows.

Key Requirements

  • •A recognised teaching qualification and a degree in Mathematics or a closely related subject.
  • •Strong knowledge of the NCfE and experience of GCSE mathematics (further maths desirable).
  • •A proven record of securing strong student outcomes.
  • •Excellent classroom practice, behaviour management, and communication skills.
  • •The ambition, adaptability, and collaborative mindset required for a growing secondary school; excellent IT and interpersonal communication skills.
