Key Responsibilities

  • •Refine and execute the multi-year payments strategy to grow giving and bring core payments capabilities in-house.
  • •Design and implement the end-to-end product lifecycle for payout solutions from ideation to launch and iteration.
  • •Collaborate with engineers, product management, designers, and external partners to deliver next-generation payments infrastructure.
  • •Own technical decisions across ledgering, money movement, and disbursement, anticipating future use cases and designing to reduce future change cost.
  • •Mentor engineers via chat, code review, and pair programming, and lead projects end-to-end while communicating progress, challenges, and trade-offs to stakeholders.

Key Requirements

  • •8+ years of relevant payments experience across areas such as checkout/payment methods, payouts, ledgering, reconciliation, interchange, and KYC/onboarding.
  • •Experience architecting scalable services and systems using established design patterns, anticipating future use cases, and minimizing the cost of change.
  • •Ability to lead projects from conception to completion, balancing technical trade-offs with business needs and keeping stakeholders and teams aligned.
  • •Strong performance troubleshooting and prevention, with experience using application performance monitoring and log analytics tools (e.g., New Relic, Sumo Logic).
  • •Experience with Spring Boot and Kotlin, plus cloud/distributed systems like AWS, Kafka, and Kubernetes; knowledge of GraphQL and relational databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL) is preferred.
