Key Responsibilities

  • •Design and maintain scalable Layer 2/3 network architectures for HIL laboratories, integration environments, simulation systems, and shared test infrastructure.
  • •Develop and maintain networking software, configuration-as-code, automation tools, and validation utilities for repeatable, reviewable, and recoverable lab network deployments.
  • •Integrate a wide range of hardware (switches/routers/firewalls/servers/real-time compute/simulators/flight computers/sensors/radios) into representative HIL and program network environments, including MANETs.
  • •Develop and execute network test plans to measure connectivity, interoperability, throughput, latency, jitter, packet loss, multicast behavior, failover, and performance under load.
  • •Build network observability (packet capture, telemetry, logs, metrics, alerts, dashboards, automated health checks) and reproduce/resolve complex network and distributed-system issues.

Key Requirements

  • •Minimum 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree (or 3 years with a Master's) in network engineering, systems integration, test infrastructure, or software development.
  • •Strong Ethernet and TCP/IP fundamentals, including switching, routing, subnetting, VLANs, multicast, DNS, DHCP, NAT, QoS, and transport protocols.
  • •Hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting managed switches, routers, firewalls, Linux hosts, and networked computing systems in lab/dev/production environments.
  • •Ability to develop network automation using Python (or a comparable language) and build configuration/validation tooling.
  • •Proficiency executing structured network/system tests with tools such as Wireshark and tcpdump, plus experience supporting HIL/integration/distributed test environments.
