Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide first-line supervision and execute safe mechanical pre-commissioning, commissioning, start-up, and performance testing according to the Commissioning Execution Plan.
  • •Supervise pre-commissioning activities for mechanical equipment (oil flushing, final alignments, final closure of stationary equipment) and coordinate repair/refurbishment during commissioning and operations.
  • •Supervise commissioning activities for rotating machinery packages, including test runs and performance tests; manage machinery preparation and initial run-in operational tests.
  • •Develop and use piping/cleaning/flushing and leak testing test packs; conduct walkdowns, punch listing, cleaning, and reinstatement for mechanical/piping systems.
  • •Ensure commissioning records and operational test data (e.g., vibration, temperature, pressure, flow) are captured and passed to the Systems Completion team; review operating spares, lubrication requirements, and redline as-built P&IDs while complying with PTW and safe working practices.

Key Requirements

  • •Preferably a degree/diploma in mechanical engineering or similar.
  • •Minimum 5 years’ experience with a contractor organization as a commissioning mechanical supervisor/specialist.
  • •Pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up experience on at least 3 major EPC projects in the refinery/oil & gas industry.
  • •Experience with rotating machinery equipment packages (e.g., turbines, pumps, compressors) and associated mechanical completion activities.
  • •Experience developing test packs for hydrotesting, cleaning, flushing, and reinstatement; knowledge of completions management systems is preferred.
