Key Responsibilities

  • •Advise clients on cost strategies by managing vendor prequalification, assessing proposals and bids, attending bid interviews, and making bid recommendations.
  • •Develop and review project estimates, present estimates to clients, and provide value engineering and risk assessments; challenge vendor costs using benchmark data.
  • •Establish reporting schedules and manage cost reporting by reviewing cost reports and forecasts, maintaining a commercial risk register, and running periodic meetings with the project team and vendors.
  • •Manage cost control by reviewing payment application assessments, recommending contractor entitlements, reviewing change order requests, and applying dispute prevention/management/resolution procedures.
  • •Manage invoicing and post-contract activities, including final accounting, post contract audits/account close-outs, post-contract reviews/lessons learned, and handover procedures; complete duties using bid analysis sheets and change control forms.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering, or a field related to construction.
  • •Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in a cost management role within the construction industry.
  • •RICS accreditation or actively working towards it is valuable.
  • •Experience supporting cost management on medium or large construction projects.
  • •Good knowledge of construction industry technical matters and strong communication skills.
