Job Summary

Oversee Fine Jewelry & Watches (FJW) authentication in a production environment to optimize item quotas. Execute authentication using GIA evaluation techniques, test precious metal purity, identify stones and diamonds, and determine highest-risk pieces. Research fair market value and demand, set list prices with final approval, manage QC and product sorting, and support training and guidance for specialists through presentations and tips.

Key Responsibilities

•Execute the full authentication process for FJW by identifying colored stones and diamonds using GIA evaluation techniques and precious metal purity testing.
•Research fair market value and market demand for branded and unbranded jewelry.
•Set list prices for branded and unbranded items, with direction and final approval from the Gemology/Jewelry Authentication team.
•QC product from specialists when challenging harder pieces, including evaluating and authenticating highest-risk jewelry.
•Assist in training new Sr. Specialists and support the team by answering questions and delivering tips/tricks and presentations for difficult gemstones.

Key Requirements

•7+ years of fine jewelry & watch experience with some GIA classwork in lieu of GIA Certification
•Experience with diamonds (selling, grading, pricing)

•Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence
•Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees
