Job Summary

Chemical systems engineer responsible for owning and improving specialty and bulk chemical operations in Samsung's Austin semiconductor facility, coordinating with operations, maintenance, construction, and vendors to ensure safety, quality, and reliability while driving continuous improvement and startup of new equipment.

Job Function: Industrial, Process & Manufacturing Engineering

Key Responsibilities

•Provide technical expertise and ownership for chemical systems, safety and quality standards, and improvements for those systems; interact with operations teams, maintenance teams, construction teams, and equipment vendors to sustain and maintain equipment.
•Troubleshoot emergent equipment issues and provide technical direction to resolve.
•Work with maintenance teams to plan and execute non-standard equipment maintenance to address failures or equipment improvements.
•Communicate and coordinate with Fab Engineering groups to provide technical support, supply issue resolution, and collaboration for improved safety, quality, and system reliability.
•Commission and startup new equipment installations; support and lead MOC for PSM and RMP covered processes; drive continuous improvement projects to improve quality, productivity, and safety, while also reducing cost.

Key Requirements

•BS degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or a related field is preferred, along with equivalent experience.
•Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, preferably in gas or chemical equipment ownership; semiconductor experience is a plus.
•Strong technical skills and the competency to represent the group in work coordination and execution are essential.
•Experience interacting with operations, maintenance, construction, and equipment vendors to sustain and improve equipment.
•Familiarity with safety and quality standards, and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
