Key Responsibilities

  • •Collaborate with software engineers to create and maintain Reddit’s foundational observability platform.
  • •Deliver software to improve availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency across monitoring, logging, and tracing.
  • •Contribute feedback to the technical and strategic direction of eventing at Reddit.
  • •Automate critical parts of the event-driven development process.
  • •Share on-call responsibilities and contribute upstream changes to the open-source projects used.

Key Requirements

  • •7+ years developing internet-scale software, preferably for infrastructure environments.
  • •Experience with distributed systems development and troubleshooting across both systems and software.
  • •Familiarity with observability tooling such as Prometheus, Thanos, Grafana, Vector, Clickhouse, and OpenTelemetry (OTEL).
  • •Experience developing on Kubernetes or similar distributed systems.
  • •Strong communication skills and the ability to self-start while engineering large systems.
