Job Summary

Join TRM Labs’ Global Investigator team in APAC to validate high-priority cryptocurrency leads, perform forward and backward tracing, assess interactions with regulated platforms, and produce investigative documentation that supports time-sensitive escalation and victim-centered recovery outcomes. You’ll work in a recovery-focused layer of scam investigations with AI-assisted workflows and cross-region collaboration to recover funds for victims.

Key Responsibilities

•Validate time-sensitive blockchain signals and move high-confidence matters through the escalation workflow, ensuring speed and accuracy in investigations.
•Trace victim funds end-to-end by following flows from wallets to platforms and generating documentation that supports restitution and legal actions.
•Own the recovery process post-freeze by backtracing funds to specific victims and producing documentation that drives restitution.
•Support time-sensitive asset-preservation workflows with regulated platforms and ecosystem partners.
•Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners in a distributed, async-first environment to deliver outcomes with high ownership and accountability.

Key Requirements

•3–5 years of cryptocurrency investigations or asset-recovery experience (e.g., law enforcement crypto units, blockchain analytics firms, exchange compliance investigations)
•ability to independently determine first steps when faced with unfamiliar tasks
•experience producing investigative packages that support formal legal, compliance, or enforcement workflows
•blockchain / cryptocurrency tracing experience (forward- and backward-trace, exchange attribution, multi-hop tracing)
•AI fluency and practical examples of using AI tools to accelerate analysis and outputs
