Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead the crew in developing and meeting farm goals while following Standard Operating Procedures.
  • •Maintain a safe work environment and assure farm biosecurity; comply with animal welfare policies and environmental laws/procedures.
  • •Manage personnel and systems, including supervising technicians and handling personnel responsibilities such as hiring, safety, evaluations, certifications, payroll, and staffing.
  • •Coordinate with the Production Manager to develop annual goals, maximize farm capacity, and assist with animal transport.
  • •Maintain facilities, sanitation, and equipment/vehicle upkeep; ensure accurate records, animal identification systems, and training/certification progression for staff.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science (or related) and 2+ years relevant experience, or equivalent education and experience.
  • •Minimum 1-year experience in swine production and a history of good production in nursery/finishing environments.
  • •Strong leadership and organization skills, with the ability to follow instructions and maintain accurate record keeping.
  • •Good communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to read/understand company communications in English.
  • •General computer knowledge and ability to use math to calculate performance for production and financial results.
