Key Responsibilities

•Data Center Heat Rejection and HVAC System Design: Develop heat rejection and HVAC systems tailored for data centers, considering cooling types (air cooled or direct fluid cooled), loads, future flexibility, phased construction, airflow management, humidity control, redundancy, energy efficiency, and standards compliance.
•Cooling System Selection: Choose air/water side cooling systems for data centers, including fan walls, CRAHs, chilled water, DX, CRACs, in-row cooling, and containment based on site needs and equipment criticality.
•CFD Analysis: Conduct internal CFD simulations to optimize airflow, hotspots, and overall cooling performance; perform external CFD for buildings/campus; develop models and coordinate design changes with other trades.
•Redundancy and Fault Tolerance: Design HVAC systems with redundancy and fault-tolerant features, backup cooling, automatic switchover, and monitoring.
•Heat Load Calculation and Capacity Planning: Calculate data center heat loads, determine cooling requirements based on IT equipment and growth, and plan capacity for future expansions.

Travel: Low travel

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 140,000 - 185,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Bachelor's Degree with 6+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
•Experience in data center mechanical and electrical equipment installation and operation
•Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration is required
•Knowledge of data center TER Topology (Uptime Institute), TIA 942, ANSI/BICSI 002 preferred
•Certifications such as CEM, BEMP, LEED are advantageous
