Job Summary

Responsible for the safe, compliant handling, storage, and disposal of radioactive waste generated by the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant, implementing the predisposal waste management process in line with regulatory requirements. Provides technical oversight, safety practices, and guidance on waste characterization, packaging, storage, transportation, and regulatory compliance to minimize hazards and ensure QA.

Key Responsibilities

•Oversee the management of radioactive waste across characterization, handling, packaging, and disposal with emphasis on safety and regulatory compliance.
•Develop and implement characterization and categorization programs for BNPP radioactive waste to ensure accurate identification and inventory management.
•Lead storage, transportation, and on-site/off-site waste management activities to meet predisposal requirements and safety standards.
•Drive regulatory compliance initiatives, staying abreast of evolving regulations and guiding the team in applying compliant practices.
•Lead quality assurance efforts, audits, and emergency response planning related to radioactive waste management.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor of Science Degree.
•7 years of relevant experience, including 5 years of Nuclear Power Plant experience with 3 months of BNPP site experience.
•APR-1400 or OPR-1000 experience in radiation safety area.
