Job Summary

Support complex substation design projects within the Power Delivery Substation Team, guiding multi-site due diligence, permitting, and engineering deliverables. Lead technical work across concept, preliminary, final, procurement, and construction phases—producing and reviewing single-line diagrams, calculations, grounding and lightning protection designs, layouts, and technical reports. Coordinate across owners and disciplines, ensure code compliance and quality, mentor junior staff, and prepare site HASPs while interacting with regulators and clients.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide high-level technical assistance across due diligence, investigation, remediation, permitting, design, and construction for utility, industrial, and commercial-scale projects.
•Collect, compile, and analyze site, blueprint, GIS, substation component, and equipment data to support procurement packages and design/review processes using relevant standards and regulations.
•Coordinate, review, and approve electrical infrastructure design plans to ensure compliance with applicable codes, ordinances, and regulations.
•Perform professional and complex electrical engineering design work, including single-line/three-line wiring diagrams, substation layouts, grounding grid and lightning protection, and protective device coordination.
•Oversee and monitor cross-functional teams through project execution tasks (budgets, schedules, technical calculations, permits, compliance documentation) while mentoring junior staff and preparing HASPs.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
•7 to 10 years of relevant post-education experience as an electrical engineer delivering design work for power generation, transmission, and distribution capital projects.
•Engineer license required.
•Proficient with electrical engineering principles and design/build practices, including permitting and project work-related issues.
•Ability to produce and apply electrical calculations and computations and to plan and conduct inspections and investigations for construction and design work.
