Job Summary

Lead mechanical engineering design work within an engineering consultancy team, preparing and reviewing feasibility studies, detailed designs, calculations, and IFC drawings. Coordinate closely with the WSP Hong Kong team and local MEP leads on specifications, scope, and technical reviews, ensuring QA, CDM processes, and regulatory sign-off. Mentor junior staff, manage commissions and document control, and support costing and tender information through clear design decision communication.

Key Responsibilities

•Prepare feasibility study reports and review them with the Local CRC Head of MEP.
•Assemble and monitor design specifications and scope of works with the WSP Hong Kong team, ensuring delivery by due dates.
•Carry out detailed design aligned with WSP, Hong Kong Building Regulations, and relevant codes, including complex calculations, QA/technical review, and sign-off.
•Review and monitor calculations production, costing inputs, and support tender document preparation by providing documentary information to meet deadlines.
•Lead and project-manage commissions, manage document control/archiving and CDM/QA processes, and coach junior staff while handling day-to-day queries from the WSP HK team.

Key Requirements

•B.Tech/M. Tech (Mechanical) and minimum 8 years of relevant experience.
•Progress in HVAC and tunnel ventilation concept design, including zoning and regulatory QA confirmation.
•Preparation of IFC drawings, schedules, datasheet schematics, and P&ID, plus heat load calculations.
•Knowledge of software such as AutoCAD and Revit MEP, and being fully conversant with technical software like Hevacomp and HAP.
•Membership to an accredited engineering body (e.g., MIET, CIBSE, INSRAE, ASHRAE) and working knowledge of relevant standards/codes (e.g., ISHRAE, ASHRAE, BS, HK codes).
