Job Summary

Oversee all CG work on an animated film, managing creative and technical execution from assets through final delivery. Partner with the Technical Supervisor to define workflows and technical solutions that meet the Director’s artistic goals, collaborating with department heads across animation, characters, environments, effects, lighting, compositing, and more. Review in-progress CG to ensure style, quality, and standards, troubleshoot notes, and communicate risks or roadblocks to production management while advocating for effective tools and workflows.

Key Responsibilities

•Oversee all CG work on the project, from assets through final delivery, ensuring creative and technical execution across CG departments.
•Partner with the Director and Production Designer to implement creative vision, providing technical oversight on CG complexity and feasibility for schedule and budget.
•Guide and align department heads and supervisors across CG disciplines to achieve the Director’s vision for the film.
•Review in-progress CG work from departments to confirm the creative brief is met, work is on-style, and creative and technical standards are upheld.
•Define and oversee CG workflows and technical solutions with the Technical Supervisor and pipeline/TD teams, troubleshooting creative and technical notes and communicating roadblocks to production management.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: CAD 280,000 - 420,000 annually

Key Requirements

•5+ years of leadership in CG production supervision (e.g., VFX Supervisor, CG Supervisor, or comparable roles).
•Proven leadership on CG animated projects across feature films, series, animated shorts, and/or video games.
•Expert knowledge across multiple CG disciplines and workflows including Modeling, Texturing/Surfacing, Rigging, Animation, Lighting, Shading, Compositing, and general FX.
•Expert working knowledge of industry-standard 3D and imaging software including Maya, Houdini, Arnold, Nuke, and related packages.
•Excellent verbal, written, and digital communication skills, plus strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
