Key Responsibilities

  • •Manage day-to-day operations of tailings ponds and operate/manage facilities in line with design intent.
  • •Conduct drone-based photogrammetry, thermal, and LiDAR scans; obtain UAV FAA Part 107 certification as needed.
  • •Develop and maintain GoldSim models for tailings and water management; use quantitative modeling for short-term planning.
  • •Keep D5 nominated manager and responsible dam engineer informed; report D5 standard-related incidents and ensure OMS manual upkeep.
  • •Coordinate with Engineer/Designer of Record, HSEC, legal, communities and social performance, regulatory affairs, environment teams; liaise on monitoring system communications and change management.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering subject (geotechnical, civil, chemical) from an ABET-accredited university.
  • •Master’s degree in Mining or Geotechnical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university is highly regarded.
  • •Experience supporting GISTM compliance and tailings governance requirements.
  • •Experience with tailings facility operations, surveillance, instrumentation monitoring, drone-based inspections, regulatory compliance, contractor coordination, and risk management.
  • •Valid Driver’s License; EIT preferred.
