Job Summary

Perform dimensional and visual inspections of jet engine assemblies and components in a state-of-the-art aerospace facility. Use power/mechanical tools, fixed and variable measuring instruments (including automated measuring machines), and engineering drawings to accept, reject, or refer parts for rework or quality review. Work from inspection procedures and complete required paperwork, including basic mathematical computations to address nonconformance. This is a 3rd shift onsite role at the Product Delivery Center.

Key Responsibilities

•Use power and mechanical tools to perform functional checks on engine assembly and components.
•Perform dimensional and visual inspections using measuring instruments, including automated measuring machines, and verify accuracy of parts, tools, gages, and equipment.
•Accept or reject material findings, and accept or refer items for rework or quality review as needed.
•Work from written inspection procedures and engineering drawings to perform in-line checks and ensure operation sheets are followed.
•Complete appropriate paperwork and perform necessary mathematical computations to resolve nonconformance.

Key Requirements

•High school graduate or GED.
•1+ years of formal training in power-plant mechanics and testing, or 1+ years of automotive training or experience.
•Ability to perform dimensional and visual inspections following standardized methods and established techniques.
•Familiarity with written inspection procedures and engineering drawings.
•Knowledge of FAA and aviation standards, jet engine design/operation, and engine assembly or test stand experience.
