•Own architecture and set the technical direction for the agent layer to support the Streams model.
•Design scalable agent-layer architecture and evaluate/implement new technologies to improve performance.
•Provide technical guidance, conduct code reviews, and lead by example on engineering best practices and quality.
•Gather stakeholder requirements and collaborate with product management to prioritize features.
•Facilitate cross-team collaboration, identify and mitigate risks, and adjust project plans based on changing priorities or feedback.

Key Requirements

•Proven experience as a technical lead or principal engineer on an agent, daemon, or systems-level software project at scale, managing distributed deployments, versioning, and backward compatibility.
•Deep knowledge of observability data collection (metrics, logs, traces) and protocols including OTLP, Prometheus Remote Write, and syslog.
•Solid Go background, with familiarity with Elastic Agent and Beats (primarily Go).
•Experience designing management and control planes for distributed software, especially protocol-driven approaches like OpAMP.
•Track record of leading large, multi-team technical initiatives from ambiguous design space to shipped software.
