Key Responsibilities

  • •Load, unload, rack, hang, spray paint, wash, and prepare materials and components to and from conveyors, paint hooks/tables, and trees before and after zinc plating and related department painting processes.
  • •Apply prime, finish, and wrinkle coats while avoiding painting defects (runs, beads, clogged holes, sags, pinholes) and protect painted surfaces as directed.
  • •Clean, wash, deburr, and prepare metal surfaces; perform electroplate/bonderize preparatory steps and run parts through series of acid dips and wash processes to achieve uniform bright dip and passivation.
  • •Operate and monitor conveyorized dip painting station systems, including solution control (valves, heat/cool/aerate), minor adjustments to equipment/controls, and maintaining chemical concentration, viscosity, temperature, and pH.
  • •Inspect raw and painted/plate surfaces for defects and moisture, respond to chemical spills, perform minor TPM/maintenance, complete logs/checklists, and maintain a clean, safe, orderly work area.
