Senior Python engineer to build a real-time, low-latency Python backend for radar signal processing. You’ll ingest live I/Q streams, manage data flow, and optimize performance across NumPy-based pipelines, AI modules (ONNX/PyTorch), and a FastAPI/WebSocket stack. Own infra with Docker, CI/CD, and secure data handling in a defence-oriented, R&D environment.

Key Responsibilities

•Build a Python backend that ingests a live I/Q stream and manages queues, buffers, processes and data flow.
•Move large I/Q matrices into the AI core with minimal latency using shared memory, zero-copy and ring/ping-pong buffers.
•Wrap and profile the team\'s math/AI modules (NumPy, ONNX Runtime / PyTorch) and remove bottlenecks with signal engineers.
•Design the schema for tracks, events and metadata; implement async writes via asyncpg / SQLAlchemy async; manage RAM storage and cold storage for logs.
•Develop API & UI using FastAPI for commands, auth and status; stream tracks via secure WebSockets to an operator dashboard.

Key Requirements

•Senior (or strong mid) Python engineer with experience building real engineering systems
•Strong experience with asyncio, multiprocessing and multiprocessing.shared_memory
•Proficiency with large data matrices (NumPy) and profiling/optimising Python for latency and throughput
•Experience with PostgreSQL (asyncpg or SQLAlchemy async), FastAPI, REST and WebSockets
•Proficiency with Docker, Docker Compose, Linux, and GitHub Actions
